Benzoic acid and benzoates are used as preservatives against both yeasts and bacteria in acidic products.
Used in
Benzoates are the most important preservatives used in soft drinks. Additionally, they are used in most of the tomato ketchup, spreads, snacks and pickles.

Approved in the EU and US with strict monitoring on dosages per product.
